Es un microbicida concentrado que se usa como preservador de pinturas base agua, selladores, recubrimientos y adhesivos. Su adición a estos productos evita el desarrollo de hongos causantes de la degradación, decoloración, etc., de las capas ya aplicadas, especialmente cuando son expuestas a los ambientes húmedos.
La adición de este producto es específica para evitar el deterioro bacteriano en la pintura base agua. Este daño microbiológico se caracteriza por pérdida de viscosidad, mal olor y pobre estabilidad de la emulsión.
